Cappy ("Cappy", "we", "us") is a focus and self-care companion app published by MobileByteSensei. This policy explains what data Cappy handles, why, and the choices you have. Cappy is guest-first: the core experience works with no account, and we collect as little as possible.
The short version
- No ads. No selling your data. Ever.
- You can use Cappy's core features without an account.
- Your mood and focus check-ins are for your own tracking — not sold or shared with advertisers.
- We use analytics and crash reporting to keep the app working well, and — only if you choose to sign in or subscribe — we handle your account and purchase details.
- Everything that leaves your device travels over an encrypted connection, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
What we collect
Used without an account (guest mode)
- App activity & diagnostics — anonymous usage events and crash/performance data (via Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics) so we can fix bugs and improve the app. This is not linked to your identity.
- On-device content — your focus sessions, mood check-ins, quests, and companion progress are stored on your device.
Only if you choose to sign in (optional)
- Account info — your email address and name, via Google Sign-In or our secure sign-in provider (Supabase Auth). Used to create your account and sync your progress across devices.
- Your synced content — your check-ins and progress, encrypted in transit and associated with your account so it follows you across devices.
Only if you subscribe to Cappy Plus (optional)
- Purchase information — subscription and entitlement status, handled through Google Play Billing and our billing provider (PayCraft). We do not receive or store your full card details.
How we use it
- To provide and sync the app's features.
- To keep Cappy stable and improve it (analytics, crash reports).
- To manage your subscription entitlement.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
Who processes data for us
Cappy relies on a small set of service providers that process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting), Supabase (optional sign-in and sync), and PayCraft / Google Play Billing (subscriptions). Each processes only what's needed for its function.
Your choices & rights
- Use Cappy without an account — most features need no sign-in.
- Delete your account and data — from in-app account settings, or by emailing us; we'll remove your synced data.
- Control network use — guest content stays on-device; sign-in and sync are opt-in.
Children
Cappy is not directed to children and is not intended for young children. It's designed for older students and adults managing focus and self-care.
Data security
Data transmitted between the app and our providers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
